How to Know Jesus Christ and Be Saved
-
Before we can appreciate the Good News, we must understand the "bad news." Every one of us has a barrier between us and a holy God.
"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." — Romans 3:23
Sin isn't just "doing bad things"; it is a condition that separates us from God. It disconnects us and stops us from being able to adequately have a fruitful relationship with God the Father. Because God is perfect and sin is not, we cannot bridge that gap on our own.
-
The solution is the substitution of your sin, which was placed on Jesus on the Cross. The Cross of Jesus Christ is the only bridge between man and God. He took the penalty we deserved so that we could have the life He deserves. He alone is the mediator who brings us back into harmony with our Creator.
"For there is one God, and there is one who brings God and human beings together, the man Christ Jesus." — 1 Timothy 2:5 (GNB)

Faith isn’t a mysterious superpower; it’s something you already use every day. Think about how you plan your life:
When you plan what you’re going to eat tonight, that is faith.
When you study for a degree or set an alarm for work, that is faith.
As Hebrews 11:1 says, "Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." Salvation is taking that same daily faith and placing it in something greater than yourself—the truth of God’s Word.
-
God wants all people to be saved—and that includes you. He welcomes you regardless of your circumstances, your struggles, or your past. If you feel a "pull" at your heart, that is Him reaching out. That is one of His ways of speaking directly to you. You may have been searching for purpose in all the wrong areas, but Jesusis available to you right now, in your darkest or brightest moments.
-
Ultimately, there are infinite benefits to a new or rededicated relationship with Jesus. Jesus isn't waiting for you to "get it all right" before you come to Him; He loves you exactly as you are. When you choose to believe and become a student of His Word, He begins to radically alter your life:
He carries you when you are incapable of continuing to do things on your own.
He helps you in your weakest moments and blesses you to overcome them as a testimony to His grace.
He changes your circumstances and uses your life to impact others. If He doesn’t immediately change the situation, He can let the situation change you and bless you one hundred fold.
-
Jesus is waiting for you to believe. Salvation is the most important decision you will ever make because it is the beginning of your true life. By placing your faith in Him, you are received into His Kingdom and start a journey of being carried by His strength.
